Confirmation

Confirmation

In the Church of England, children are baptised and promises made for them by parents and Godparents to bring them up in the Christian faith so that in time they are ready for Confirmation, when they publicly make those declarations of faith for themselves as members of the Church and receive Communion. Different Churches take turns hosting a Confirmation service where candidates from surrounding Churches gather together to celebrate and be blessed and confirmed by our Bishop.

If you are baptised and are interested in being confirmed, we would be happy to explore this with you. We offer a Confirmation course to prepare you that looks at issues such as prayer, the Bible, Communion, membership of the Church and the Christian life.  This is available both for young people and for adults.
