Tea and company 1st Wednesday of the month 1.30pm to 3.00pm

This informal group shares coffee, tea and cake in a relaxed atmosphere with a chance to talk about the weather, the weekend or anything they like. It especially offers a warm welcome to the bereaved and is also a safe place to share feelings of grief with others who have similar experience.

Those who like craftwork are invited to enjoy each other’s company as they work together to produce a card or another completed craft with a well-earned tea break as well.

Fun and Games 3rd Wednesday of the month 1.30pm to 3.00pm

All retired people are invited to join us to socialize and play some games including carpet bowls and board games. Includes refreshments and a team quiz.

Food for Thought 4th Wednesday of the month 12.30pm -1.45pm

Retired people come together for a shared home-cooked meal as well as thought refreshment in the shape of a short reflection after the meal. Please contact us if you would like to share in this meal as bookings are essential. Payment by donation.

Silver Screen 5th Wednesday of the month 1.30pm -3.00pm

The occasional fifth Wed gives us opportunity to watch a short movie together, and is often a flash back to the silent silver screen of the past.

Extra Senior Yearly activities

Senior Citizens’ meal and entertainment Sat eve at end of January

Retired people from nearby are invited to join together for a post-Christmas celebration with a generous meal and home grown entertainment, usually in the shape of a Pantomime. Don’t expect us to be word perfect – oh no we’re not! – but do expect great fun and joy – oh yes we are! Interval with tea and cake included.

August Holiday at Home

One week in August we enjoy a Senior Holiday Club from Monday to Friday. The days incorporate all aspects of each Wednesday activity with some themed fun activities thrown in for good measure. On the Wednesday we also go out for the day and enjoy a meal out together. The theme of the holiday week gives the clue to the mystery venue.
