Whilst writing just a quick reminder that from this Sunday 29 September our Sunday services at both St Stephen’s and St Margaret’s will be at 10:15 am.  Please do let friends and family know in case they haven’t been made aware.

This Sunday, being the fifth Sunday of the month, is a joint service which this month will be taking place at St Stephen’s, starting at 10:15.

Good afternoon all and welcome to this month’s newsletter.  I hope that you find it interesting and informative.  We have a lot going on over the coming months, so please take time to read this and also keep watching our web site and Facebook pages.

 

Whilst writing, just a couple of reminders of important events over the next few weeks:

 

  • Saturday 31 August is the New Town Community Day on the Recreation Ground from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.  It would be really great if you are able to come along to this event, and

 

  • Monday 2 September we have Rev Anna’s welcome and licensing service taking place at 7:30 pm at St Margaret’s with refreshments beforehand.  Please do make every effort to come along to this special service for Rev Anna and both our Churches.

Welcome to our April Newsletter, which is once again full of all sorts of information and details of loads of events and activities locally.

And with this being Maundy Thursdays, please see below a reminder of all that is going to be happening this weekend as we prepare for and then celebrate Easter:

Maundy Thursday;

A service of Holy Communion at 7:30 pm at Wimpole Road to conclude our Lent Course, with everybody invited, which will include “A Remembrance of the Last Supper with the tastes and symbols of Passover”

Good Friday;

A short Walk of Witness starting from Wimpole Road at 10:00 am with a brief time of prayer and reflection and concluding after the walk with refreshments at St Stephen’s

Last hour at the cross; a reflective service with meditation and prayer at St Margaret’s starting at 2:00 pm

Easter Saturday;

Easter Vigil with Holy Communion at St Stephen’s at 6:30 pm

Easter Sunday;

At 6:30 am Easter morning sunrise service on the beach at West Mersea (at the bottom of Empress Avenue)

Easter Day celebration services with All Age Holy Communion at 9:30 am at St Margaret’s and 11:00 st St Stephen’s

Evening Prayer at St Leonard’s at the Hythe at 4:00 pm
