What We Believe
St Margarets church is part of the Church of England or Anglican Church. A description of the God we worship is given in the ‘Creeds’ to be found in Common Worship services and prayers for the Church of England.
We believe in one God,
- The Father, the Almighty,
- Maker of Heaven and earth,
- of all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
- He was born of the virgin Mary.
- He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.
- He descended to the dead.
- On the third day he rose again.
- He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
- He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in The Holy Spirit,
- The Lord, the giver of life.
- Who proceeds from the Father and the Son
- He has spoken through the prophets
We believe in
- One holy catholic and apostolic Church ( i.e. worldwide and founded by the apostles.)
- One Baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
- The resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
